Revive Northeast Iowa - Statement of Faith
Revive Northeast Iowa is not a church, but a regional movement of believers united by one vision: to see revival and lasting transformation sweep across Northeast Iowa through prayer, service, and collaboration in the Body of Christ.
We believe:
1) The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, living Word of God; true, trustworthy, and the final authority for faith, doctrine, and daily life.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:105
2) The One True God (The Trinity)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
3) Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and is exalted at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is the only Savior and the only way to reconciliation with God.
Scripture: John 1:1, 14; Isaiah 7:14; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 4:12; John 14:6
4) Humanity and the Sanctity of Life
We believe all people are created in the image of God and are deeply loved by Him. We believe every human life is sacred and valuable from conception to natural death.
Scripture: Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5; Deuteronomy 30:19
5) Sin and the Need for Salvation
We believe all people have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and are in need of forgiveness and redemption through Jesus Christ.
Scripture: Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Isaiah 53:6
6) Salvation by Grace Through Faith
We believe salvation is a gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works. We believe those who receive Christ are made new and adopted into the family of God.
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5
7) The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active today, convicting, comforting, empowering, and transforming believers. We believe the Holy Spirit fills believers, produces holiness, and equips the Church with spiritual gifts to build up the Body of Christ and advance God’s Kingdom.
Scripture: John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Romans 8:14
8) The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers. We believe God calls His people to unity, worship, discipleship, mission, and love. We are committed to honoring local churches and working together for the greater good of the region.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:4–6; John 17:20–23; Hebrews 10:24–25
9) Biblical Marriage and Sexual Purity
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God between one man and one woman. We believe God calls all people to holiness and sexual purity according to Scripture.
Scripture: Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:31–32; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5
10) Men and Women in Ministry
We believe God calls and empowers all believers, male and female, to be used in the ministry of the Church and the work of His Kingdom. We believe spiritual gifting and calling are given by the Holy Spirit and are not limited by gender.
Scripture: Acts 2:17–18; Galatians 3:28; Romans 12:4–8; 1 Corinthians 12:7; Judges 4:4; Luke 8:1–3
11) Revival and Renewal
We believe revival is not just an event, but a lasting shift in the spiritual climate of a region, marked by repentance, hunger for God, salvation, healing, and transformed lives.
Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14; Acts 3:19; Isaiah 57:15; Habakkuk 3:2; Psalm 85:6
12) The Mission of God
We believe every believer is called to live on mission, sharing the gospel, serving others, and demonstrating the love and power of Jesus through compassion, truth, and boldness.
Scripture: Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15; Micah 6:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20
13) The Return of Christ and Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will return again in glory. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and eternal life for those who belong to Christ.
Scripture: Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 21:1–4; John 5:28–29
